It is supported by affiliate partnerships with comparison marketplaces: when you click a “compare quotes” link or button on this site and request quotes, we may earn a commission. You pay nothing extra — the commission comes from the marketplace's marketing budget, not your price.

Three commitments behind every link: the data is never for sale — every figure on this site comes from USGS groundwater studies and EPA Safe Drinking Water Information System records, via published analyses and would be identical with or without affiliate relationships; rankings are never pay-to-play — states and providers are ordered by price, and no partner can buy a better position; and links are always labeled — comparison links carry a disclosure notice and are marked sponsored in the page code, as the FTC and Google expect.
